A GIS Technical Consultant needs to have a combination of technical as well leadership skills. A bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environment Science or related field is required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environment Science or related field is required with proven experience in providing technical support for mural development and related geospatial visualization initiatives.
- Strong knowledge in using GIS and remote sensing with solid mathematical skills to measure, organize and analyze spatial data;
- In-depth knowledge of using spatial data formats, spatial analysis techniques, and spatial data management;
- Familiarity with web-based data analysis and visualization platforms, strong understanding of OpenStreetMap(OSM) and its applications;
- Experience in using open data, google earth engine, and geospatial scripting;
- Familiarity with climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and anticipatory action;
Problem-solving skills with attention to details, an
- Verbal and Written communication skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Engage in mapping and spatial analysis through the use of GIS software and other relevant available tools;
Provide technical support for developing mural arts;
Preparation of Geodatabase and visualization of data;
Assist Tech-team in system design and development;
OSM Mapping and Validation;
Perform Ad-hoc tasks as delegated by DRR-Program Manager and DRR Officer.
