About the project

Using Climate Change Scenarios to Inform Community-based Adaptations and Planning in Nepal (CCSICAPN) project is funded by Frontier Technology and aims to develop ways to inform and capacitate local government to make use of existing data, policies, and technology to enable local government to implement DRRM and CCA related plans and interventions through data-driven decision making. CCSICAPN is an eighteen-month-long project that is being implemented in Bhotekoshi rural and Rajapur municipalities. 

Objective

The objectives of the consultancy is as follows: 


  1. Develop ideas and designs for murals to be implemented with school children;

  2. Showcase the flood experiences of the community and communicate disaster risk reduction in the form of mural art in the local school of Rajapur Municipality in Bardiya district; and, 

  3. Coordinate and supervise the event so that school children can be engaged in a safe manner. 

Tasks and Deliverables

  1.  Provide conceptual artwork for communicating flood disaster incorporating elements in the artwork such as QR codes, infographics, storytelling, cultural background of the municipality etc.   
  2. Create an art activity plan that involves the flood experiences of the school children.
  3. Coordinate and supervise the mural art activity, ensuring that it is carried out in a safe and engaging manner. 
  4. Assist in identifying the necessary materials and equipment required for the mural art project. 
  5. Work with the children to develop a mural art design that reflects their experiences of flooding, aligns with the cultural values and reflects the local context. 

Deliverables

  1.  A detailed artwork activity plan for the one-day event, including an outline of the orientation and activities to be undertaken with the children. 

  2.  A completed mural art project that reflects the flood experiences of the community in the local school which should also represent the cultural values of Tharu community.

    Qualifications

    YI-Lab invites dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced firm/consultant to apply for the position. The tasks will be implemented by a consulting firm or individual with expertise and capacity to undertake the assignment described in this ToR. Experience in creating art depicting flood risk communication would be an advantage.The consulting firm or individual should have a proven track record of delivering high-quality art projects or campaigns that involve communication, such as visual communication or graphic design. The consulting firm or individual shall be based in Nepal and firm run by young people will be a plus.

    • A technical proposal (maximum 5 pages) including

      • Description of how your skills and experience match the ToR requirements.

      • Proposed methodology and work plan

    • CV of artist involved

    • Financial proposal  indicating  consultancy fee

    • At least two samples of previous productions in line with technical and creative requirements of the project

    • Copy of firm registration certificate and renewal documents in case of consultancy firm.

    • VAT registration certificate.

    • Latest Tax clearance certificate.
