Youth Innovation Lab (YI-Lab) is a not-for-profit civic tech company that works at the intersection of emerging  cutting-edge  technological tools and their applications by equipping young professionals to solve emerging challenges in our community. About the project

Using Climate Change Scenarios to Inform Community-based Adaptations and Planning in Nepal (CCSICAPN) project is funded by Frontier Technology and aims to develop ways to inform and capacitate local government to make use of existing data, policies, and technology to enable local government to implement DRRM and CCA related plans and interventions through data-driven decision making. CCSICAPN is an eighteen-month-long project that is being implemented in Bhotekoshi rural and Rajapur municipalities. 

Objective

The objective of the consultancy are as follows: 


1)  Support the CCSICAPN project team at YI-Lab in gaining a comprehensive understanding of climate change scenarios within the contexts of Rajapur Municipality and Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality.

2)  Support the CCSICAPN project team at YI-Lab in developing a collaborative risk communication strategy and assessing policy gaps at both federal and local levels in Rajapur Municipality and Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality. 


Tasks and deliverables

1.2 Input in the interim report on Climate Change Scenarios and Community-based Adaptations and Planning broadly in the context of Nepal with focus on Rajapur and Bhotekoshi. 10
2 Support CCSICAPN project team at YI-Lab in developing a collaborative and participatory approach for risk communication, sensitization, and awareness in Rajapur Municipality and Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality. 2.1 Develop a collaborative approach framework for risk communication, sensitization, and awareness in Rajapur Municipality and Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality. 8
2.2 Assist project team at YI-Lab to create a detailed implementation plan that translates the collaborative approach framework into actionable steps. 6
3 Support CCSICAPN project team and Planning Officers at YI-Lab in assessing the activities under allocated budget and identifying policy and gaps that needs to be addressed in federal and local context.  3.1 Provide guidance to the project team and planning officers in evaluating the implementation of each activity within the allocated budget and assessing its alignment with DRR and CCA principles and objectives. 4
3.2 Input in the Interim Report on the budget planning, legislative and organizational gaps identified in DRRM and CCA governance in both municipalities including recommendations for improving. 6

Timeframe and supervision 

The consultancy service is for a 5-days, and the project activities are expected to be completed within the allotted time frame. The transportation and accommodation of the consultant for the event is not included in the service fee. The consultant will directly report to the project team leader and work together with the project team.   


Payment Schedule

40% of the total contractual amount will be paid after the completion and submission of deliverables included in Task 1  

35% of the total contractual amount will be paid after the completion and submission of deliverables included in Task 2 
25% of the total contractual amount will be paid after the completion and submission of deliverables included in Task 3
